Disaster Recovery & Backup

Disaster recovery (DR) involves a set of policies and procedures to enable the recovery or continuation of vital technology infrastructure and systems following a natural or human-induced disaster.

Disaster recovery focuses on the IT or technology systems supporting critical business functions, as opposed to business continuity, which involves keeping all essential aspects of a business functioning despite significant disruptive events.

Disaster recovery is therefore a subset of business continuity.

Due to the nature of our our business, all our internal data and that of our clients, are replicated to strategic offsite locations, to ensure the minimal amount of disruption during a disaster.

This is also the case for our clients. There is no need to backup any patient data within the eMD software. You simply re-install the software and perform a replication from within our software.

We can also assist with drawing up and implementing a disaster recovery plan for this business to ensure business continuity in case of a disaster.
